Martinsville outlasted Kennard 51-48 in overtime in a District 28-A girls matchup Tuesday night.
After falling behind 13-9 in the first quarter, the Lady Tigers outscored their hosts 11-9 in the middle two frames to knot the score at 31-all at the end of three.
Both teams scored 12 in the final period, leaving the score tied 43-all and forcing overtime. Martinsville outscored Kennard 8-5 for the victory.
Teriana Johnson led the Lady Tigers with 22 points.
The Lady Tigers had an open date Friday before hosting Chester for a district contest Tuesday, Jan. 10.
